You’re My Sofia
When I listen to music, I pick around two songs that truly embody how I feel in that moment, and then I listen to them for months on end. During the first few months of high school I experienced new friends, and the struggles of motivation and commitment. As well as many new feelings I truly hadn’t had the courage to acknowledge or admit to until this year. I feel that this collage took all the songs that translated my feelings and the words I couldn’t seem to find, into perfect melodies that inspired me in a new way to visual music. I fell in love with all these songs just as much as I fell in love with making this piece. This collage is very special to me because it makes me feel represented in whole new ways, and while making this I started seeing myself in a kinder light in other parts of my life, and I think it really reflects back in the art.
