Tengu

Tengu, Painting
Tengu
"Tengu" is a watercolor and gouache painting depicting the folklore of Tengu, the mischievous winged character that is believed to be the reincarnated spirit of Buddhist priests. I took inspiration from the Japanese folklore story of Tengu with his invisible cloak. I enjoy watercolor because it has a mind of its own, and you have to be flexible and welcoming of the outcome. I enjoy gouache for a more intense color and its ability for greater detail.
